Terms & Conditions

By accessing the School Guide Uganda Platform, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age, or are using the Platform under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
• You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms in full.
• You will comply with all applicable Ugandan laws and regulations while using the Platform.
• You are not prohibited from using this service under any applicable law or regulation.

School Guide Uganda grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for lawful personal or institutional purposes. You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent content.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform without prior written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its backend systems.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts that interfere with normal Platform operation.
• Reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit Platform content without consent.
• Impersonate any person, school, or institution on the Platform.
• Engage in any activity that violates Ugandan law or infringes the rights of third parties.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any user who violates these conditions without prior notice.

Certain features, including school management and listing submissions, require account registration. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate, current, and complete registration information at all times.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activities that occur under your account.
• Promptly notifying us of any unauthorised use of your account.

Schools and institutions that submit profiles to the Platform agree that:

• All submitted information (name, location, contacts, fees, facilities) is accurate and kept up to date.
• Submitted photos, videos, and documents are owned by you or used with proper authorisation.
• You will promptly update your listing when any information changes.
• School Guide Uganda reserves the right to review, edit, or remove listings that violate our content standards.
• Featured or promoted listings are subject to separate advertising agreements and applicable fees.

All content on the School Guide Uganda Platform — including the logo, design, graphics, text, page layouts, and directory structure — is the property of Educom School Media Service and is protected under applicable Ugandan and international intellectual property laws.

• You may not copy, reproduce, or republish Platform content without prior written permission.
• Schools retain ownership of content they submit to their profiles.
• By submitting content, schools grant School Guide Uganda a non-exclusive licence to display it on the Platform.
• User-generated comments and reviews remain the intellectual property of their respective authors.

School Guide Uganda is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019. Our data practices include:

• Collecting only data that is necessary for the operation of the Platform.
• Never selling your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
• Using cookies and analytics tools to improve user experience (see our Cookie Policy).
• Storing data securely and taking reasonable technical measures to prevent unauthorised access.
• Honouring requests to access, correct, or delete personal data where legally required.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. In particular:

• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of school listings.
• We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or suitability of any school listed.
• We do not endorse any particular school, scholarship, or educational programme.
• Information about fees, admissions, and availability may change — always confirm with the institution directly.
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Platform at all times.

To the fullest extent permitted by Ugandan law, School Guide Uganda and Educom School Media Service shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of or inability to access the Platform.
• Errors or inaccuracies in school or institution listings.
• Unauthorised access to your account or personal data.
• Any third-party content, links, or services referenced on the Platform.
• Admission decisions, school performance, or outcomes related to schools found via the Platform.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid (if any) for services in the twelve months preceding the claim.

School Guide Uganda reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if you:

• Violate any of these Terms and Conditions.
• Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful behaviour toward users, schools, or our staff.
• Submit false or misleading information to the Platform.
• Engage in any activity that damages the reputation or integrity of School Guide Uganda.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform immediately ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and liability limitations — shall continue to apply.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Uganda.

We encourage users to first contact us directly to resolve any concerns amicably before initiating formal legal proceedings.
